VOLUNTEERS NEEDED -- CAN YOU HELP?

Calling all bullmastiff rescue volunteers in/near ALABAMA:  we desperately need foster homes. A large number of dogs is being surrendered to ABA rescue and we need your help!  If you can help foster a dog, please fill out a Volunteer Application, and contact Virginia Rowland at blackslate@aol.com. Thank you!

youung male puppy and 10 year old female in AL shelter

Six to eight Bullmastiff dogs and bitches ranging in age from 7 months to 10 years have been dumped at a shelter in Alabama.  They appear to be in good condition but health status (heartworm, etc.) is currently not known.  Shelter doesn't have room for these dogs or the means to get them vetted.
Donations of money and foster homes are desperately needed and appreciated!

Bullmastiff Rescue in Texas is in desperate need of those who can foster or those who might be interested in adopting.  A record number of dogs are being surrendered to shelters, picked up as strays, or coming directly to us from owners who are losing their homes.  Please, if you can help in any capacity, fill out the Volunteer Application, and send to our National Rescue Coordinator, Virginia Rowland, at the address on the bottom of the form.
Please contact Virginia Rowland at blackslate@aol.com for more information about helping in Texas.  Thank you!

GIVE ME $5 FOR FOOD!

My name is Magnum and I have been elected as the official spokes Bully for the "Slaves To Our Stomach Club."  We cannot help it, every waking moment of every day we think about food, beg for food, conspire to steal food and when we sleep we dream of food!  As hard as they try our beloved rescuers cannot keep up with demand.  There are a lot of us that have spent many a night with an empty stomach and we are making up for lost time.  Page one, paragraph one of the Bullmastiff Manual specifically states " A true Bullmastiff will take every opportunity to eat, there is no shame in exhibiting pure unabashed gluttonous behavior in a public setting."  We take our manual very seriously.  PLEASE click on the paypal button below and give $5 to feed the bottomless pit we call our stomach!  If you can spare $10 we can get a big box of BISCUITS too!!  Our tummies thank you :)  WOOF!

Click on the paypal button below or mail check to: ABA Rescue Association,  PO Box 300 Templeton, MA 01468-0300

* All proceeds from the sales benefit Bullmastiff Rescue. Thank you for your support!

Please check our website frequently for posted pictures of various Club members high fiving their thanks to our very generous donors!

 DOGS IN NEED

The dog(s) below need expensive medical care before they can become someone's beloved pet.  ABA Rescue is committed to paying veterinary expenses for all the dogs being fostered, however, your help continues to makes this possible. Won't you consider donating to help defray the costs?

My name is Boogie, and while my story before rescue is pretty sad, things are looking up for me now.  Please read my story to learn more about me and please consider donating to help pay for my medical bills.  Thank you so much!

My name is Sage, I'm a very sweet 8 yr old girl.  My family just surrendered me to rescue and I'm in bad shape.  Both of my knees are BAD and one hip is dysplastic.  I have such a terrible UTI that I was urinating blood, but medicine is helping me.  We won't know if I'm incontinent or not until my UTI is gone.  My ears hurt as well, but with the wonderful rescue people, they are helping every single one of my aches and pains, but its costing Rescue a Lot of money.  My foster mom says I'm just the Sweetest thing ever and I'm ever so grateful for the pain meds and soft bed she's giving me.  In my previous home, the one I had my first 8 yrs, there was no bed and no meds.

Please consider sending Rescue a donation to help with my vet bills. Thank you, Miss Sage

Lilly, just a youngster at 9.5 months old, was picked up at a shelter.  One of her rear legs was deformed, probably from an untreated injury, and has had  to be amputated.  ABA Rescue needs help raising money for her recovery!  Her veterinary costs were nearly $2000. If you can help Lily, please consider donating to our Paypal account.  ABA rescue Paypal email is:  aba_rescue@yahoo.com. Thank you!  For more information on Lilly, contact her foster mom, Donna Lynch bluequail@gmail.com  Check out this cute video of Lily enjoying life

ABA Rescue would like to sincerely thank Pet Pointe, Inc. for its generous support of ABA foster dogs through their donation of thousands of pounds of dog food.

ABA Rescue Information and Background

The American Bullmastiff Association Rescue Service's  (ABARS) mission is to find homes for unwanted Bullmastiffs that come from shelters or are owner surrenders from people whose lifestyle or financial situation has changed.   Occasionally ABARS will get Bullmastiffs that have been abandoned at a local veterinarian's office or from a good citizen that has found the dog and exhausted all means to locate the dog's owner.   ABARS is not a placement service for our members' unwanted or returned dogs.We do accept owner surrenders from people who have purchased their dogs at pet shops or backyard breeders, but most of the dogs we place are of unknown origin and unknown age. ABARS will not rehome a Bullmastiff that has any history of aggression to adults or children.   ABARS cannot accept for placement dogs that are Bullmastiffs mixes - we only take dogs that are known to be Bullmastiffs or can be represented as such. The Bullmastiffs are neutered or spayed before they are adopted and receive all the vet care they need so they can be represented as being in good health.

We rarely have dogs under six months of age and the average age of the dogs we place is around 2 years. Anyone interested in adopting a dog must first complete and return the adoption application to the National Rescue Coordinator Virginia Rowland. We prefer that it be done on line if at all possible. Anyone adopting a dog must pay a fee which will reimburse the Rescue Service for the expenses involved in adopting the dog from the shelter and getting the necessary veterinary attention. The fee normally is $400 with reduced fees for elderly dogs.

ABA Bullmastiff Rescue is full of incredible success stories! On our Rescue Heroes Page, we've highlighted a few dogs and owners who have achieved big!

Please consider donating to rescue using PayPal! Every donation helps to get these wonderful dogs into the loving homes they deserve!
