By Harold & Janet Hamm of Janhamer Bullmastiffs
“Caleb” distinguished himself early in his show career by winning his first BIS at the tender age of 10 1/2 months old. To our knowledge, he was at that time, the youngest Bullmastiff in Breed history to achieve this prestigious title. This was only just the beginning for this history making young dog. From May 2001 to his retirement in April 2004 Caleb won 4 BPIS, 5 All Breed BIS, 3 BISS two of which were Canadian National Specialties, Can. National BISS Sweeps, 163 BOB wins and a total of 78 Group placements. As a puppy in 2001 he was ranked #5 in breed standings for Canada. In both 2002 and 2003 he was ranked #1. Caleb is a moderate compact dog, he is well balanced with short back, level topline and exhibits outstanding breed type. He has a wonderful square headpiece with black mask, dark eyes and correct ears. His bite is nearly level with wide under-jaw and well placed canines. Of all Caleb’s outstanding qualities he is best known for his even and stable temperament. He is exactly what our standard describes as being, fearless and confident yet docile. This gentle, happy go lucky boy never stops smiling or wagging his tail. Whether he is in the show ring, or a classroom filled with children, or playing the role of official greeter to our home, Caleb makes a lasting and positive impression on all who meet him.
