Slugger
by Donna Atkins
Slugger is a fun loving, confident dog who manages to draw in and hold a crowd. From the day I picked him up I knew he was going to be something special. He has never disappointed me and has gone beyond every expectation I ever dreamed of.
Slugger is a middle of the standard dog with great bone, stunning head, and wide under jaw. He is clean moving coming and going with a lovely side gait. He has a beautiful top line, a great front and strong rear. Slugger has passed on his bone, and lovely head piece and has helped to improve width of under jaw. His get have also been gifted with his temperament and playfulness towards life. They, like Slugger, are versatile; making a
presence in the ring with numerous BOB and Group placements, as well as excelling in the working arena. At 9-½ months of age Slugger became the second youngest Bullmastiff in history to achieve both his Canadian and US Championships. His many credentials include Best in Sweeps, and 5 Awards Of Merit, 1 of them being under the age of 16 mos at the US National. With only 6 weekends of showing in Canada he achieved the ranking of the #2 Bullmastiff in Canada . His Canadian career includes 2 All Breed Best in Shows, National & Regional Specialty BOB wins and an AOM. After an extended retirement, he came back in the ring 2 months shy of 7 yrs to Win Best of Breed from the Veteran‘s class at the MBF Specialty. The one thing I would change on Slugger might be a little more seriousness so we could have accomplished a CD title.
