Junior, Berg’s I’m A Boomer Too, was named after his father, Boomer, a large- boned, impressive champion with loads of type. True to his name, Junior, despite limited breedings, consistently reproduced himself in substance, soundness, and head pieces. What was even more remarkable, however, beyond what he contributed to the naked eye, was his outstandingly sweet temperament. Everyone and everything, man and dogs alike, were his instant friend. Often I would find him relaxing in the yard, staring up at the squirrels dashing through the trees, happy to share his space with them. Barking or chasing after them never crossed his mind. Junior could have used more leg, a problem that impeded his gait and prevented me from finishing him. Nevertheless, he was a wonderful companion, and I am delighted to know his presence endures through his offspring.
